We publish under the SwitchPicks name rather than a personal byline, because our rankings come from documented research rather than one person's hands-on experience. Where a specification, measurement, or figure appears in a guide, it comes from the manufacturer or a cited source, not from our own bench.
What we score on
Every pick is judged on the same criteria. We weight them by what actually matters for the way you will use the gear, then write up the tradeoffs honestly.
Actuation feel
Smoothness of travel, tactile bump clarity, and reported scratchiness or stem wobble, read from published force curves, manufacturer specifications, and owner reports.
Sound profile
Thock, clack, or click character as captured in published sound comparisons, resonance with and without foam, and the post-lube results builders consistently describe.
Build quality
